FIVE REASONS YOU SHOULD BE SLAMMING TEA RIGHT NOW
Listen, we sell milk tea because we love it, but we’re not going to force you to believe us. Take a stroll through the top five reasons that tea rocks and let us know which side of the fence you land on.
- One word: polyphenols
If you’re like us, you might have had to Google the pronunciation of this word. Now that that’s taken care of, let us tell you what they are! Polyphenols are a type of natural compounds found in many, many plant foods. There are over 8,000 of them identified, and they are thought to help remove free radicals from your body, reduce inflammation, improve digestion and brain function, and the list goes on. Most commonly found in black, red, and green tea are flavonoids, theaflavins, and catechins.
- It will help you live forever
Jumping off that last point: those three major polyphenols found in tea have *literally* been proven to reduce risk of premature death. They do this by improving your cardiovascular health, blood sugar management and reducing your chance of blood clots and cancer. Who could be opposed to all that?
- Jitter-free energy
Have you ever downed a shot of espresso and felt positively bonkers afterwards? Makes sense. A lot of people claim that coffee causes jitters in their bod while tea doesn’t. Here’s why: tea contains an amino acid that coffee does not and it’s called L-Theanine. It’s a naturally occurring chemical that acts as a buffer in your digestive system to slow the process, which prevents jitters and the caffeine crash we’ve all come to know and not love. And, as a bonus, L-Theanine also slows cortisol production which will help you feel like less of stress ball! High five.
- It tastes freaking good
Okay, here’s the part we do best. Black tea and oolong tea taste just so, so good. Our adjectives runneth over, but we’ll pick a few. Each tea has its own flavor profile but in general, think: earthy, nutty, smoky, sweet, floral. It’s like drinking a healing potion straight from Mother Nature. When you drink a cup of tea (or better yet, a bottle of Kinship), it goes down real smooth.
- Good vibes, u kno?
There’s no way around it. Tea vibes are off the charts. There is just something about their flavor profiles that evoke the most delicious combo of coziness, zestiness, and clear-headedness. We don’t go a day without sipping some and it always leaves us feeling more present and calm. And don’t get us started about adding oat milk and a touch of cane sugar. Kinship’s bottled and chilled milk tea doesn’t just vibe off the charts, it breaks the meter.
